The Brew

The sounds of The Brew are as clean, flowing, and downright gorgeous. Guitarist Michael Rodriguez, the leader of this long-running Austin ensemble, is astoundingly fluid on his instrument, offering melodic lines and solos that take flight at every turn. Starting out in Brownsville, Texas, back in the mid-Seventies, the Brew made their way to Austin in the Eighties and have since leaned increasingly into the arena of Latin jazz. Michael's brothers Joe and Mark take care of percussion and bass duties, respectively. The style of music that the band played changed as a reflection of Michael’s evolving musical interests. The Brew presents a vast repertoire of songs and musical styles to their fans. Michael Rodriguez and The Brew are an Austin original and a perennial favorite of audiences young and old.
