The Austin Jazz Society is providing a platform (the catalyst) to create a sustainable youth jazz program in the Austin and surrounding area. The success of this program will require participation and support from students, parents, educators, donors and sponsors. We invite everyone to play a part in the success of the Austin Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Diego Rivera is a world class jazz musician, composer, arranger and educator who is the Director of Jazz Studies and the Butler School of Music, University of Texas. He has years of experience working with and directing youth jazz education programs.

“If you are a serious student who would like to expand your knowledge of the majesty of Jazz music & culture, build on your musicianship, develop collaborative and leadership qualities while engaging with a community of mentors and peers in order to enhance your collective lives and learn the value & power of community, you should seriously consider becoming a part of the Austin Youth Jazz Orchestra.”
