ABOUT LYNN RAY & BRIAN PARDO
Lynn Ray has toured with Arlo Guthrie, David Bromberg, Country Joe and the Fish, and the Zasu Pitts Memorial Orchestra, and has performed with Keeley Smith, Bonnie Raitt, The Tubes, Bill Kirchen, The Lighthouse Singers, John Lee Sanders, and lots of others (I'll get the rest of the info to you.) She also sang on Kitaro's Grammy-nominated album The Light of the Spirit, and sang on the film soundtracks of Rush Hour 2, Eat a Bowl of Tea, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Lincoln, Slam Dunk Ernest, and other film and television soundtracks. She received a Gospel Music Workshop of America Award and was nominated several times for the Outstanding Female Vocalist Award by Bay Area Music Magazine.
Guitarist and composer Brian Pardo holds a doctorate in Jazz Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s degree in Music Composition from Mills College, and a bachelor’s degree in Music Theory and Composition from Haverford College. He is a member of the Jazz Studies faculty at Texas State University, having previously taught at the University of California, Berkeley, California State University East Bay, and the California Jazz Conservatory. Brian has performed and recorded with a wide range of jazz and popular artists including Jack McDuff, Stan Getz, John Clayton, Eddie Harris, Charles McPherson, Arthur Blythe, Barbara Dennerlein, Paul Hanson, Mark Levine, Claudia Gomez, Tony Manoco, Paul McCandless, Bonnie Raitt, The Coasters, The Shirelles, Coco Lee, Tom Waits, Audra McDonald, and many others. He has composed, recorded, and produced music for radio, television, and film, including work for Paramount Pictures, PBS Soundstage, PBS documentary films, Comedy Central, Apple Computers, Wells Fargo, The Ford Motor Company, Century 21, and Levi Strauss & Co.
