The Austin Jazz Society believes in the bright future of Jazz. This is why our mission focuses on education.  After several youth jazz education initiatives, the Austin Youth Jazz Orchestra project is officially launched.  

The Austin Jazz Society is providing a platform (the catalyst) to create a sustainable youth jazz program in the Austin and surrounding area. The success of this program will require participation and support from students, parents, educators, donors and sponsors. We invite everyone to play a part in the success of the Austin Youth Jazz Orchestra.

INDIHAR FUND

With a grant from the Frank J. Indihar Foundation, AJS has set up a separate fund to be used exclusively to promote increased employment opportunities for our local jazz musicians. The fund will be used to develop projects that not only increase gig opportunities but grow audiences that will support the musicians, long term.

INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY

Held on April 30th, this was a first time event for four Austin Jazz non-profit organizations to collaborate with the Long Center. Alive with the enthusiasm to recognize and celebrate International Jazz Day, continuous performances by four bands across two stages showcased the diversity and breadth of the Austin, TX, jazz scene!
