About Terry Bowness
Terry Bowness has been making music in Austin, Texas since 1997, first as a pianist, and more recently on Hammond B3 organ. Soon after arriving in Austin he joined Los Jazz Vatos, the latin jazz sextet led by Texas drum veteran Ernie Durawa and winner of several Austin Chronicle music awards. Between 1999 and 2013 he composed, produced, and released four albums of original music on Aardvark Records, garnering positive reviews and radio airplay across the globe.
Terry continues to perform as a sideman with many Austin-area musicians and bands including Mitch Watkins, Bruce Saunders, Brian Pardo, Andre Hayward, Gerry Gibbs, Kevin Witt’s B-Side, The Tommy Howard Organ Trio (with Tom Brechtlein), and Elias Haslanger’s Church on Monday.
Terry graduated from UT Austin in 1997 with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and has since designed many integrated circuits for mobile phones and other consumer and industrial products. His work on mobile phone audio amplifiers has been heard by billions of people worldwide.
